Roseberys
Rosebery's was founded in 1987 by Ian Cadzow, (ex Sotheby's Valuations Department), who saw a gap in the market for a good mid range auction house in the London area.Originally based in Islington and sharing premises with Bloomsbury Book Auctions, Rosebery's held monthly antiques auctions. In 1988 an additional saleroom for general auctions was opened at the old Crystal Palace Railway Station in south London. As the Company expanded and outgrew the Islington premises, all auctions were re- located to Crystal Palace where the Company remained for 10 years. 1998 saw the move to newly re-furbished premises at Knights Hill where the auctions have gone from strength to strength.Rosebery's hold 12 catalogued sales a year covering most areas of Fine Art and Collectables, including Furniture, Works of Art, Pictures and Prints, Ceramics and Glass, Silver, Plate and Jewellery, Rugs and Textiles.Of particular interest are the regular specialist auctions of Decorative Arts and Modern Design, Musical Instruments, Books, Toys and Collectors Items.
