In 1999 we became part of H&H Group plc.H&H has been inextricably linked with the farming community for over 120 years as farm stock auctioneers and valuers, rural chartered surveyors, land agents and quota brokers, agricultural insurance brokers and providers of finance. Prior to FMD the company was, in terms of throughput, the largest single site auction mart in Europe. In addition to its Carlisle operation it also runs other auctions at Bristol, Broughton in Furness, Kendal, Kirkby Stephen, Lazonby, Lockerbie, Middleton in Teesdale, Newcastleton and St. Johns Chapel. It has Land Agency offices at Newton Stewart and Millom. Cumbria Auction Rooms, Lowther Street, CarlisleWe have operated from Cumbria Auction Rooms on Lowther Street since 1973. A listed Victorian building, it was originally a wine merchant & auctioneers, subsequently becoming the bottling plant for the Carlisle & District State Management Scheme early in the 20 th century before reverting to use as auction rooms.The building retains many interesting and attractive original features.
