Our aim is to bring together wine buyers and sellers on a site that offers the benefits of 'online auctions' to products that other auction sites choose to 'prohibit' due to licensing issues!Licensing isn't a big issue with us because all sellers must be approved by Cellar21 before they can list an item for sale and nearly all of the sellers on this site are independent wine importers, traders or producers. This means that most of the products offered on the site aren't ones you'll see on supermarket shelves, not that this is a bad thing, if fact we regard it as very positive because through Cellar21 our buyers can gain access to some wonderful wines from around the world that they may have missed out on had they just opted for the plonk at their local superstore.We work with many different people who sell wine; some have no retail sales outlet and just sell through restaurants and bars; some do sell to the public but have chosen our site to sell their 'bin ends' or excess stock (sometimes at ridiculously low prices), you may not recognise their names however as they want to remain anonymous. We are also working with a number of smaller producers in France and Italy to bring their wines to the UK market, some of their wines are absolutely fantastic and great value but because they only make a small amount of wine the UK retailers aren't interested.
