With the knowledge of having moved 1,000,000 vehicles through over 6,300 auctions since 1961, Bawtry Motor Auction is really a leader in its field.A complete re-vamp has seen us enter the 21st century offering bespoke systems that ensure customers and clients have a smooth ride before, during and after the sale.Bawtry Motor Auction's humble beginnings began back in 1947, when the very first sale was held in Retford, where entries included motor vehicles, accessories and tyres. The owner and auctioneer was Leonard Tomlinson and an original poster, which has survived from the time, depicts an exciting day where prizes were awarded for the best-kept car - something unheard of today! Today, we are still a family business, with Leonard's sons having taken over the controls.The auction moved to Bawtry in 1961, primarily using Nissan huts as the auction house. The present building was purpose-built in 1975 and offers modern facilities in a friendly environment.Despite being one of the oldest motor auctions in the country, today's revisions have seen the introduction of up-to-date computer systems. Software generates web site information, and vehicle catalogues, further enhancing our customer focus.
